Colour Well Colour Wise homepageIn June 2012 the European trade association, Cosmetics Europe, launched a new public information website called “Colour Well Colour Wise”:

Colour Well Colour Wise has clear and simple information about how to colour your hair safely and is divided into two main areas: “Colour well - Tips & tricks about colouring your hair” and “Colour Wise – Be Safe”.

The main focus of the section “Colour Wise” is allergy. You may have heard about allergic reactions to hair colorants, Colour Wise provides the facts about allergy and explains the importance of performing the Allergy Alert Test. Extensive advice on this is already labelled on hair colorants packaging and enclosed leaflets; the website communicates this information in an easily accessible format. Visitors to the site can click on frequently asked questions covering a wide range of areas, including the problems with “black henna” tattoos and the impact these can have on colouring the hair.

Colour Well Colour Wise has been created in conjunction with different hair colorant manufacturers and European cosmetic trade associations, with the common aim of raising consumer awareness.

This section also has lots of useful information including how hair colorants work, a Factsheet on the safe use of PPD in hair colorants as well as the reasons why we should avoid so-called ‘black henna’ tattoos.
